Our inaugural Gals with Goals Career Fair 2025 “empowering women and girls” held on February 22, was fun and exciting. This event marked our launch of the Big Goal Accelerator Project under this year's Soroptimist International Woodland President Lori Maloney.
Saturday morning was busy with SIW members arrivals and table set ups at the Woodland Community College, our event co-sponsor. Lori was able to also secure participation of professionals from the Woodland Fire and Police Departments. More than ten display tables were staffed on career topics including : nursing; several levels of teaching; early childhood education; technology & analytics; careers in psychology; nonprofit work; pharmacy careers; fire fighting; and, law enforcement.
Midway through the event, Rachel Lizarranga's presentation, “Roadmap to Reaching Your Goals” was enthusiastically received by the public participants who remained for the event.
In total the project reached over twenty members of our greater Woodland Community and expanded the knowledge of our own membership as to just how much expertise we have in our group!
